Pinterest saves the day – YAY!

So it’s Miss A’s first birthday on Thursday. Can you even believe it!??

Yesterday I realised that I really needed to get my skates on so that I can get organised for the party that I have invited many many people to this Sunday!

One of the things that I’ve realised now that I have two children is that it’s essential that you begin the way you intend to finish.  For Miss B, whilst we didn’t go OTT, I did make an effort.  I created various elements that were handcrafted. I baked and decorated the cake.  I made simple little cookie giveaways to all the guests, which I think I’ll do the same this time around.  Here’s a snapshot:

So the pressure is on to make sure that Miss A’s first birthday party is not just thrown together, simply because she is number two.  So on Sunday I took to Pinterest and started planning.  And came up with a few ideas:

And tonight I’m finishing some crafting and finalising the menu!

Did you go overboard for your kids’ first birthday? Did you leave it to the last minute like me?
