There was something about the way the palm trees stood in silhouette against the waning sunset that reminded her of those Californian souvenir tea towels from the 70’s she saw on TV sometimes.
For a minute she was transported to another place, thousands of kilometres over the seas and far far away from the demands of the two tired and grisly children in the back seat; far far away from the familiar routine of dinner, bath and bed that would soon be upon her once they pulled into the garage.
